Listen to God’s voice

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:
Friends, God teaches us to hear His voice little by little. It can be something as simple as being at the mall and not feeling good about a purchase you’re about to make. No big deal. You put it back. At the office, you feel an unrest around a certain person. You just back away. At home, you feel a prompting to spend time with your child. At night you hear a suggestion, “Turn off the TV. Go to bed. You need your rest.” You turn it off.
Pay attention to what you’re feeling. Those are all little ways that the Holy Spirit guides us. Don’t ignore the impressions, the promptings. God speaks to us in a Still, Small Voice. He is not going to boom out lightening to get your attention. He is not going to flash it across your TV screen. When God speaks, it’s usually subtle.
Remember, if you’re going to hear a whisper, you’ve got to get close. You’ve got to be tuned in. You’re not going to hear Him by accident with the busyness of the day, the stress of the office, running here and there. You have to ask yourself, “What am I feeling? What am I sensing?” You have to take time to get quiet and listen to God.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You for teaching me to hear Your voice. I choose right now to be still and lean into You. I pray that You will make Your voice clear to my heart. Thank You for leading and guiding me as I listen to You in Jesus’ name. Amen

Know what you are not

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.” 1 Corinthians 12: 17-18, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:

Friends, in the New Testament, John was baptizing a crowd of people and drawing a lot of attention. Somebody came up and said, “John, are you the Christ or should we keep looking?” Without missing a beat, John said, “No, I am not the Messiah.” John knew who he was, but he also knew who he was not. It’s just as important to know who or what you are not because if you don’t realize your limitations, you’ll get drawn into areas that may look impressive and feed your ego, but they are outside of your gifts and callings or outside of what God anointed you to do.

Anytime you go outside of your limitations, it will be a constant struggle. Don’t let that be you! Instead, stay focused on what you’re good at. Follow peace in your heart and know your limitations because God has created you just the way He wants you to be, and He knows exactly what He has in store for you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, thank You for loving me. Thank You for choosing me. I ask that You help me to know my limitations. Help me to walk in my place in the body of Christ so that I can bring glory and honor to You in Jesus name. Amen.”

Do something positive for others today.

Do something positive for others today.

Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, “My daughter, should I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?”—Ruth 3:1
Friends, in today’s verse, Naomi provides an example for what you and I should do when life is hard.  You see, in the midst of her state of depression, she did something that helped get her out from under the dark cloud of bitterness she was living in:
Naomi stopped thinking about herself and started thinking about someone else. I don’t know where you may find yourself today, but if you’re down…I have a word for you: If you can get outside of yourself and start serving others, you will find any depression you have will begin to lift.
If you’re discouraged today, I encourage you to get interested in someone else! Get involved in your church. Adopt a family or find a child that you can share a gift with; certainly it’s important to share your faith. Nothing will lift your spirits and enliven your heart like sharing the Good News with someone who needs to hear it!
When you’re discouraged or depressed, the best thing you can do is to get your mind on the Lord Jesus Christ…to worship Him, to look to Him, to speak to Him, to open your Bible, and to ask the Spirit of God to mend your broken heart.
Go out and be a blessing to someone, as you do watch God begin to restore and replenish and refresh your despondent spirit.
Do something positive for others today.
Prayer: Jesus, show me how and where I can be a blessing to someone today. Let me be Your Hands and Feet, and show Your love to the world around me today. Amen

God’s Blessing

THE LORD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU; THE LORD MAKE HIS FACE SHINE UPON YOU, AND BE GRACIOUS TO YOU; THE LORD LIFT UP HIS COUNTENANCE UPON YOU, AND GIVE YOU PEACE (NUMBERS 6:24-26 *NKJV)

Often we hear someone speaking of “good luck” when something good happens to them. They even think that they are creating their own blessings in their lives as well. How very wrong they are indeed! As Christians we know better, for it is written; DO NOT BE DECEIVED, MY BELOVED BRETHREN. EVERY GOOD GIFT AND EVERY PERFECT GIFT IS FROM ABOVE, AND COMES DOWN FROM THE FATHER OF LIGHTS, WITH WHOM THERE IS NO VARIATION OR SHADOW OF TURNING.  (JAMES 1:17)

Also God’s Blessings are not only given to us in this life, but in the life to come as well! Therefore, never forget the greatest blessing of them all, that being Eternal Life with God in Heaven! A blessing that we will receive through our Lord, Jesus Christ! So, always give thanks and praise to your Heavenly Father, and when you pray make sure you are; GIVING THANKS ALWAYS FOR ALL THINGS TO GOD THE FATHER IN THE NAME OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. Amen. (EPHESIANS5:20)

Father God, thank you that You are with us in every situation and that You go before us intoday. Amen!

Retrain your brain

Retrain your brain

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God Romans 12:2, NKJV
TODAY’S WORD:
Living in victory means that sometimes you have to develop new habits. If you’ve been negative for a long time, you’ve got to re-train your thinking from “I can’t” to “I can;” from “It won’t happen” to “It will happen;” from “I’ll never get well” to “God is restoring health unto me;” from “I never get any good breaks” to “God’s favor surrounds me like a shield;” from “I’ve made too many mistakes. I’m all washed up” to “I’m redeemed and forgiven. My best days are still out in front of me.” It’s like reprogramming a computer. Sometimes you have to wipe off the old, outdated, dysfunctional software and load in something new.
If you’ve spent your days focused on how things won’t work, it’s time to focus on how things will work out! It doesn’t matter how bad it looks, how many people have told you no, or how long it’s been that way, God has the final say. It’s not over till God says it’s over. Shake off the self-pity. Shake off the disappointment. Let go of the old and choose to believe Him. Declare His promises over your life and see His blessing and victory as you align yourself with Him!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father God, thank You for the transformation power in Your Word! Thank You for giving me hope for my future. I choose to trust You, I choose to believe Your word, and I choose to declare Your truth and watch victory unfold in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Is is written

It is written

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
Jesus answered, ‘It is written…’Matthew 4:4
TODAY’S WORD:
Friends, anytime you are facing adversity or trials, the first line of defense needs to be in your mind. If you allow fear to come in and take root in your thinking, it becomes a stronghold that affects every part of you. But when thoughts of fear come, you don’t have to “sign for the package,” so to speak. Instead of activating fear by meditating on it, believing it and speaking it, you can turn things around and activate faith.
How do you activate faith? Hebrews tells us that the Word of God is living and active, sharper than a double-edged sword, able to divide soul and spirit. When the enemy tried to tempt Jesus, He gave us the example of how to respond. He said, “It Is Written!”
Instead of going through the day worried, thinking about how it’s not going to work out, start meditating on what God says. Activate faith by speaking the Word of God. Let it sink down inside of you and transform your being. Always remember, His Word is alive, His Word is truth, His Word is your weapon. So take hold of His promises and find where it is written!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You for Your Word which lights my path and transforms my life. I choose today to turn my thoughts toward You. I choose today to meditate on Your Word and Your promises so that I can be empowered to live in the victory You have prepared for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Cast your cares

Cast your cares

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”1 Peter 5:7, NIV

TODAY’S WORD:
Friends, God cares so much about you today. Not only does He love and care about you, He cares about the things that concern you as well. If you have concerns, worry or anxiety about something in your life today—finances, relationships, your job or anything else—know that your heavenly Father already has a plan to take care of those things for you. It’s a good plan, and He wants to show Himself strong on your behalf.
Scripture reminds us that the lilies of the field and the birds of the air are cared for, how much more will your heavenly Father take care of you? Today, cast your anxiety on Him and trust that He is going to take care of you. Refuse to dwell on your problems and don’t allow them to steal your peace and joy any longer. Instead, meditate on His Word and confess His promises over your life. Cast your cares on Him and experience His peace, joy and blessing all the days of your life!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, thank You for loving me and caring for me. I cast my cares on You and trust that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. I set my mind on You and look for Your goodness in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Just listen

Just listen

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
“And after the earthquake, there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, there was the sound of a gentle whisper.” 1 Kings 19:12
TODAY’S WORD:
Friends, do you ever find that when people are talking, your mind is racing so fast thinking about what you are going to say instead of really listening?
In scripture, we see God’s voice is not the loudest one out there. Many voices of the world are vying for your attention. You have to be intentional in order to hear His voice. His voice is still and quiet, and so we must be still and quiet in order to hear Him.
Make hearing His voice a priority in your life. Set aside time each day to just listen. Develop a hearing heart so that you can know His voice and understand His ways.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, give me the wisdom and discernment to hear Your still, small voice through the loudness of this world. Today I come to You, and I choose to be still and quiet and just listen. Thank You for speaking to me as I wait patiently on You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Agree with God

Agree with God!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
“As it is written: ‘I have made you a father of many nations.’ He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.” Romans 4:17, NIV
TODAY’S WORD:
Friends, twenty years before Abraham ever had a child, God said to him, “Abraham, I have made you a father of many nations.” Notice God spoke to him like it had already happened, in the past tense. I’m sure Abraham thought, “God, You must have made a mistake. I’m not a father. I don’t even have one child. Abraham could have talked himself out of it; but instead, he chose to believe.
Today, you may be thinking, “I’m not blessed. I’m not confident. I’m not healthy. I’m not favored.” But when God says you’re blessed, don’t try to figure it out. Just agree with God and say, “I am blessed.” When God calls you prosperous, don’t go check your bank account. Don’t go look at the stock report. Just agree with God and say, “I am prosperous.” Things may look impossible. That’s all right. That’s the way things looked for Abraham. But sure enough, God’s promises came to pass, and he became the father of many nations.
Remember, when you agree with God, you are positioning yourself for a miracle. You are activating His truth in your life. When things look difficult, don’t agree with your circumstances, agree with His promises because He is faithful, and He will complete what He’s started in your life!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, I bless You and thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. I receive Your promises as truth, no matter what is going on around me. Fill me with joy and peace as I hold fast to Your promises for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Fear

Bigger than fear!

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
1 John 5:4, NASB

TODAY’S WORD:
My friends, fear always presents itself much bigger than it really is. It’s always the worst-case scenario. It always tries to get you worried, anxious, uptight and panicked. Fear’s goal is to separate you from God by trying to get you to doubt His Word. But when the spirit of fear comes, recognize that it has no power unless you give it power. Don’t give it power by speaking what fear speaks. Don’t give it power by meditating on it. Instead, let the power of the Word of God rise up within you. Declare what God says; declare that God has given you all authority in heaven and earth. Declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
Remember, no matter how big fear presents itself, it’s no match for the power of Almighty God. When you yield yourself to Him, you tap into His power. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. God is bigger than your problems and bigger than fear. Let faith rise up in your heart because faith is the victory that overcomes the world.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You for Your perfect love which drives out all fear. I choose to meditate on Your Word which feeds my faith and empowers me to overcome. I bless You and praise You today for Your goodness and grace in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
